This is weird. I love his work, he was a great and fun actor, a leftist glam rocker and a personality that was pretty unique. But I had NO idea that he died in May 2009! Throat cancer, which must be the worst that can happen to a singer. He survived it once, but it got him in the end.
I never seen this on any of the usual forums I visit, and of course nothing in the news - but in Japan 42000 fans attended his funeral! I discovered this on the train to city today, and I had problems holding back a tear or two.
